Fried Chicken

Ingredients:

  • Chicken drumsticks
  • Flour
  • Baking powder (or cornstarch)
  • Seasoned salt (to taste)
  • Black pepper (to taste)
  • Garlic powder (to taste)
  • Dan-O's original seasoning (to taste)
  • Frying oil
  • Hot sauce (optional)
  • Mustard (optional)
  • Whole Peperoncino (optional)
  • Brown gravy (optional) 

Instructions:

1. Heat the frying oil in a large pot.

2. While the oil is heating, season the chicken with seasoned salt, black pepper, garlic powder, Dan-O's seasoning, a few splashes of hot sauce, and a squeeze of mustard. Mix well and set aside.

3. In a separate bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, and seasonings.

4. Generously coat the drumsticks in the flour mixture.

5. Once the oil is hot, carefully add the chicken. For best results, avoid overcrowding the pot.

6. Cook on high heat until the chicken skin turns golden brown, turning each piece every 5-7 minutes.

7. Place the chicken in a colander to cool and drain any excess oil.

8. You're done! This pairs perfectly with a whole Peperoncino, brown gravy, mashed potatoes, and green beans.
