Cheesy Garlic Naan
Ingredients
For the Dough:
- 1/2 cup warm water
- 1 tsp sugar
- 1 tbsp active yeast
- 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1/2 cup plain yogurt
For the Filling:
- Shredded cheese (use your favorite!)
For the Garlic Butter:
- 1/4 stick butter (melted)
- 2 cloves garlic (minced)
- 1 tbsp parsley (chopped)
Instructions
-
Activate the Yeast:
In a small bowl, combine the warm water, sugar, and yeast. Stir gently and let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until bubbles form on the surface. -
Make the Dough:
In a large mixing bowl or stand mixer, combine the flour, olive oil, yogurt, and the yeast mixture. Mix until a soft dough forms. -
Let It Rise:
Transfer the dough to a lightly oiled container, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise for 1 hour, or until it has doubled in size. -
Prepare the Dough Balls:
Lightly flour your work surface. Divide the dough into 9-10 equal parts and roll each into a ball. -
Add the Cheese:
Flatten one ball, place shredded cheese in the center, and pinch the edges to seal. Roll it out again gently. Repeat for all dough balls. -
Cook the Naan:
Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and lightly brush with olive oil. Cook each naan for 20-30 seconds per side until puffed and golden. -
Make the Garlic Butter:
In a small saucepan, melt the butter and add the minced garlic and parsley. Stir for a minute, then remove from heat. -
Brush and Serve:
Brush the hot naan with garlic butter. Serve warm and enjoy!
